slayerofgodYou know what? I'm not done with Ted Cruz.
Let's assume for the sake of argument that what Cruz meant by "The internet should not move at the speed of government" is that it shouldn't move ungodly slow. After all, I think we can all agree that government, particularly congress, has done shit all recently.
Interpreting it that way, he really should support net neutrality, as it prevents ISPs from doing that exact thing. Hell, Comcast dicked around Netflix by dropping their service access speed exponentially just to get Comcast a better deal.
Of course, Ted Cruz knows this. He got paid millions in cable lobbyist money to get himself re-elected. What's really going on here is that he's using buzz words to get his base riled up against the president. "OBAMACARE, GOVERNMENT," and so forth. Essentially, he thinks that his conservative base is so stupid that they'll believe anything he says as long as he includes pandering to their anti-government, anti-democrat, anti-progressive beliefs.
In the end, Ted Cruz's real goal here has nothing to do with net neutrality. It's keeping hostility going towards the president, and more importantly the Democratic party, long enough so that when 2016 rolls around, the Republicans get the third piece of the power triad, the White House. Then we'll have the Bush Jr. years all over again, and if you thought those were bad, you ain't seen nothing yet.
